Welcome to this fun and magical place.
As this is the first blog post, I wanted to let you know what you can expect;
a post around each of the eight witch holidays, when the wheel is turning.
Or if there’s something to mention in connection to the book series.
It will be a celebration of each season, with recipes and spells.
It's nearly the end of August, and the weather has been tumultuous here in New Orleans. Lots of afternoon thunderstorms and this week even some hurricanes. Everybody jumped into action and is prepping for what is to come. We are prepared and now hope for the best.
With the pressure building in the air, I do take the opportunity to tap into that when I make spells. One of the things I like about living in New Orleans is that there is a lot of water energy. At the moment, the hefty combination of air and water is almost overwhelming.
After the full moon, some new spells will be available in Under the Witches Hat store, accessible via our website or on Etsy. Here a little sneak peek.
And of course, I've been baking! This lovely Gluten Free Cake is inspired by Bob's Red Mill Magically Moist Almond Cake. I'm sure Maeve would approve. You can find the recipe at the bottom.
I love walking my dogs in the Garden District, the rain brings out the summer flowers' sweet smells. The green is growing wild, and it feels untamed. I love to peek into all the almost jungle-like gardens. Some meticulously maintained, and in others, nature seems to have free reign. The lizards have been breeding, and the millions of tiny lizards skitter away on the sidewalk.
This building up in nature to its full bloom has coincided with the finishing details of book one of the Madigan Chronicles. Nicole is working hard to finish up the fantastic tarot cards she's creating for the book, I can’t wait to share some of the beautiful work she has done, and I've been fine-tuning the manuscript. No words can describe the excitement of seeing my world come to life. It has been living in my head for over ten years, and now it is becoming a reality.
I’m so happy you decided to come along on this journey. Life brings you sometimes in unexpected places and experiences. Writing books has definitely taken me by surprise. I love wandering around in the Madigan world, I hope you will too!
I encourage you to explore our website www.underthewitcheshat.com you'll find delicious recipes and spells. So maybe there's one for you if you look for some specific magic in your life.
