Dog Krek

"Our dogs' favorite treat!"

Even the pickiest eaters can’t resist this all-natural, chop-licking goodness.

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

6 apples
Bone broth — or water if you don’t have any
1 can of sardines in water
2 generous scoops of 100% natural peanut butter — peanuts only, with no added sugar, salt, sweeteners, or xylitol/birch sugar

METHOD

Cut up the apples, remove the cores and cook them in the bone broth for 20–30 minutes, until soft and mushy.

Drain the apples and pop them into a blender, but don’t throw away the cooking liquid. Keep it to adjust the consistency later.

Add the drained sardines and two generous scoops of peanut butter. Blend until smooth.

Now add a little of the reserved liquid until your Krek has the consistency you want.

Bridget likes hers fairly thick. Maeve insists it should be creamier. We’ll let you decide who’s right.

Keep your Dog Krek in the fridge and use it within a couple of days.

Serve to dog. Stand clear. 🐾
