Fall Equinox

Happy Mabon or Fall Equinox. I’m so glad that autumn has finally arrived. Summer is not my favorite season. The weather is cooling down, and the leaves are turning. The wheel is moving towards the darker part of the year. This morning I draw the Hermit card. Its message of self reflection and light in the dark, seems quite fitting for entering this season.

First of all, I want to share some exciting news. "The Dagger " (Madigan Chronicles #1) is at the self-publishing company, and we will be able to release it in November!! I can’t wait to share it with you. The journey of the Madigan family will officially take off. Here is a sneak peek of one of the tarot cards in the book. This deck is being designed by my dear friend and gifted artist, Nicole Ruijgrok. I’m overjoyed with the way they look. It’s such a fun journey to work on together.

Of course, I had to try my hand on some fall baking. The baking pans from Nordic Ware are so much fun! These delicious little cakes are made from a Madeleine recipe. Super easy to make and quick. The only problem is that once you taste one… the rest is quickly gone.

here's the recipe:

5 eggs

1 package (8oz) of unsalted butter

7 oz of sugar

1 tsp of vanilla extract

8 oz all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

Touch of salt

-butter the baking pan and dust with some flower

-pre-heat the oven on 350F

-mix the eggs, butter, the sugar, and the vanilla extract

-when the above is mixed thoroughly, add the flour, baking powder, and salt.

-mix until smooth

-fill the baking pan and put it in the oven for 15 minutes.

To celebrate the Equinox I've added a lovely cocktail. Apple and spices remind me of fall so here's a super simple herbally cocktail. Straight from Under the Witches Hat. Liven it up with a special ice cube. I'm in love with this rose one.

1 oz of Vodka

2 oz of hard apple cider

¼ oz Olea Saccharum Bitter from Cocktails & Sons

-Mix and shake with ice in your cocktail shaker.

-Pour in a glass and add a festive ice cube.

There are so many shapes you can order on line. Go for it!
